Rauni Hagman appointed new Director General of NBPR
Mrs Rauni Hagman, LL.M. with court training, was appointed the Director General of the National Board of Patents and Registration Finland (NBPR) by the Government on 18 August 2010. She will succeed the current President, Mr Martti Enäjärvi, who is retiring.
Her term of office will be for seven years, starting on 1 September 2010. Mrs Hagman has served as Director with the Finnish Competition Authority (from 1990 to 2001), Deputy Director-General of the Finnish Communications Regulatory Authority (FICORA) (from 2001 to 2004), and Director-General of FICORA (as of 2004).
The following stood out as her special strengths to the position: previous experience in the management of a major Government office, and solid expertise both in the field of the NBPR and in economic matters.
