INNOSCHOOL INNOVATION EVENT FOR SCHOOL PUPILS 2004
In 2004, the INNOSCHOOL Innovation Event was carried out for the fifth time. This year, our target group were first and second forms in comprehensive schools and students at the institutes of Tampere College, from whom we received a total of 209 ideas.
As a part of the INNOFINLAND project, the INNOSCHOOL event for school pupils aims to improve young people’s knowledge of entrepreneurship and inventing and to encourage them to use their creativity. Director General at the National Board of Education, Kirsi Lindroos presents the INNOSCHOOL Prizes on 16 November 2004 at the INNOFINLAND awards ceremony at the National Board of Patents and Registration of Finland.

Luminous tag / carrier bag combination

A practicable idea increasing road safety where a visible article for everyday use, such as a carrier bag, is provided with luminous colour which improves safety.

Wind power engine borne by a concrete element

The idea of utilising the existing building stock as supporting structures for wind power engines shows striving towards energy-saving and environmentally friendly activity.
The prize in the comprehensive school category goes to a group that took part with four entries
Escape slide for classrooms, equipment to improve physical condition, prevention of bullying, snack for pupils in the lower forms

These inventions are good examples of excellent teamwork, social thinking and sense of responsibility. Particularly the escape slide to be installed from a classroom window is feasible as such and increases safety.
The prizewinners will receive small cash prizes and INNOSCHOOL 2004 honorary diplomas.
